ConverSLations with Lucie Bluebird

In an effort for all of us to get to know each other better, I’ve decided to conduct some friendly (and not at all prying) questionnaires. I hope it’ll help connect us to others, and bring our little community closer. Today, we have Lucie Bluebird.

Lucie Bluebird

What’s your SL name and what do people call you? Lucie Bluebird… and generally Lucie. Sometimes Lu or Lulu. And occasionally Brat. :p

How old is your avatar? Is it your first? I was “born” on January 24, 2009… so going on 5 years now. And yes, Lucie is my first av.

Oh, actually… no, I guess she’s technically not. I created an av, whose name I cannot for the life of me remember, whenever CSI: NY did the episode with SL. But I logged in once and never again, lol. I kinda forget about that.

Do you have any SL family or RL family in SL?: My RL husband and I joined together, so he’s with me in SL. I have some SL sisters, too.

How old are you and where do you live? 37 and Colorado

What’s your home life like? Pretty quiet. We live in a rural area, and I go to grad school online. I have fibromyalgia (among other health issues), and it limits my RL to some degree.

We have a dog that is adorable and utterly spoiled. Rad works from home, so we have breakfast, lunch and dinner together every day. When we’re at our desks at night (his office is downstairs, and mine is up) we talk on the phone. Yeah, we’re that corny.

Our families are back east, where we’re from… which is generally for the best. :p So it’s just us, but we’re pretty happy with that.

Why did you join SL? Rad joined to get me to stop playing YoVille, actually. He thought YoVille was dumb (it was) and thought SL might get me to stop playing it (it did).

What do you do in SL? Rad & I run a store called Embody. He makes poses. I make shapes.

We also own a commercial sim called Woodland Park (named for a cute town in CO that we like). And I blog.

I also run Lazy Sunday and just took over another event called The Outlet.

When and how did you start? Embody opened at the end of May 2010. We’d run an SL photography business called DreamCatchers for about a year, and Rad got into making poses because of that.

When not working in SL, what are you doing? Standing on my platform, shopping, decorating or hanging out with friends… and generally being kind of goofy and silly.

Who is the most fun/interesting person you’ve worked with? Oh, gosh… my first SL sister Triana started as one of my regular photography clients. She’s left SL and we don’t really talk now, but she was a ton of fun. Obviously, since we became sisters after working together for so long.

Who do you want to work with? There are several bloggers I’d love to do blog posts with, but I’m too awkward to ever ask or name names, lol.

What do you wish you could do in SL? I wish I could build. I don’t have that type of talent… or patience for it. I’m creative, but more in an ideas sort of way.

Lucie creationWhat is your favourite creation?  Star Trek fans will get it, lol…

Lucie faveWhat is your favourite post/picture? and the post that goes with it is here
I, like a lot of bloggers I know, often go “meh” at my own pics. Sometimes I like them a lot… and this one I just loved so much. I found myself going, “wait, I did that?” more than once. I also found myself thinking, “uhm, well… should retire now. Won’t ever do better than this one.”

But I figure it gives me something to aim for… 🙂

What is your one SL vice or guilty pleasure? No one who knows me even slightly will find this surprising… SKINS!

What is the oldest thing (you can find) in your inventory? Old pics of us when we were newbs… aside from that our original, freebie, horribly blingy wedding rings which I cannot bring myself to delete.

If you had to describe yourself in three words, what would they be? Quirky, awkward and talkative.

Does SL influence your RL style? Vise versa? LOL neither… if anything my SL is influenced by things I don’t do/wear in RL for various reasons.

What’s your favourite pasttime? Reading or writing… kind of hard to pick between the two.
